What some people might call a "test scene", we turned into our 2011 Christmas card. A particle system for some semi-heavy poly count, lots of anisotropic depth-of-field (but no motionblur) for nice bokeh effects blended with heavy transparencies and a good old "20" in the refraction depth spinner. We tried to achieve a warm atmosphere with a simple light setup for fast rendertimes.
